Supported throughout labor and birth
Birth is powerful, deeply personal, and different for every woman. My role as your midwife is to support the natural process of labor while carefully monitoring the well-being of you and your baby.
During labor, you are encouraged to listen to your body. You may move, change positions, rest, eat or drink when appropriate, use water and other comfort measures, and create an environment that helps you feel safe and supported.
Throughout labor, I monitor you and your baby and continually assess how labor is progressing. I also watch for signs that additional evaluation or medical care may be necessary.
When your baby arrives, as long as circumstances allow, the focus remains on keeping your family together. Those first few hours are precious. Routine newborn assessments can be performed while preserving bonding, warmth, skin-to-skin contact, and the establishment of breastfeeding.
Birth should never feel like something that simply happened around you. You should feel involved, informed, respected, and supported throughout the entire experience.
