Prenatal care that gives you time to be heard
Prenatal care is about much more than checking blood pressure and listening to your baby's heartbeat. These visits give us the opportunity to build a relationship and prepare physically, emotionally, and practically for birth and postpartum.
During your pregnancy, I will monitor your health, your baby's growth and development, vital signs, laboratory results, and other appropriate aspects of prenatal care. I will also discuss recommended testing and screening options so you can ask questions and make informed decisions about your care.
Appointments may include conversations about nutrition, common pregnancy discomforts, exercise, fetal movement, preparing for labor, birth preferences, breastfeeding, newborn care, postpartum recovery, and anything else that is important to you.
One of the things I value most about midwifery care is having time for these conversations. Pregnancy brings questions, excitement, uncertainty, and sometimes fear. You deserve a provider who has time to listen.
